No matter how big or small, a bequest is one of the most significant gifts you can make. It could change lives for better, making a big difference to New Zealand children who daily go without food at school and early childhood education centres, the basic necessities to stay warm, dry and healthy.
Your gift can be a specific sum, a percentage of your estate or even a specific property or asset. And how it’s used is up to you. You may be happy for us to use your bequest in the area or region of most need, or choose a specific part of the country that’s special to you.
How to leave a bequest to KidsCan
If you don’t have a current will, it’s best to get in touch with your family solicitor or a trustee company, such as the Public Trust or NZ Guardian Trust. They’ll help you create a will that reflects your wishes, ensuring they’re clearly understood, and can include a bequest to KidsCan as part of this process. To do this, you’ll need the full name and address of KidsCan which is: KidsCan Charitable Trust, 7 Beatrice Tinsley Crescent, Albany, Auckland 0632.
If you have an existing will, it can be updated to include a bequest to KidsCan by making a codicil (a codicil is an addition to your will). It’s important to do this process in consultation with your solicitor, however, to assist you download an example of a codicil form that we hope will be a useful guide.
If you choose to include a bequest to KidsCan, we would like to know so we can personally thank and acknowledge you on behalf of Kiwi children less fortunate than others.
